About Us
Vivian Bostick News (VBN) is an independent news outlet founded by Vivian Bostick, a Media major at Ball State University. A former WISH-TV 8 MMPP intern and the first-place TV Copywriter at the 2023 Indiana Association of School Broadcasters conference, Bostick launched VBN to gain real-world news experience while in college. VBN primarily covers Muncie, while covering select Indianapolis and national stories, aiming to serve the public beyond campus boundaries.
To provide additional coverage to the Muncie community, VBN is a proud news distributor of the Indiana News Service. VBN directly aligns with the Service's mission to "interest the public in the public interest." Select stories from the Service may appear on VBN, and will be attributed in the dateline.

Bostick created VBN to provide herself an opportunity to report while in college, gaining real-world, hands-on experience before she walks into a corporate newsroom. This shows her initiative and dedication to journalism. VBN operates entirely outside the university system, giving Bostick full editorial control.
Bostick plans to turn her home office into a makeshift studio to host a live newscast. The newscast, VBN Live, will be streamed on VBN Network, encompassing our website, Kick, and Twitch.
VBN is solely funded by Bostick's personal contributions, Vee Media, advertisers, and donations from readers like you.
VBN is not funded, sponsored, or endorsed by Ball State.
