National Security Adviser Mike Waltz Steps Down, Nominated as U.N. Ambassador

    WASHINGTON - The AP reports that National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Deputy Alex Wong are leaving their positions at the Trump administration. This comes weeks after Waltz added a journalist to a Signal chat used to discuss military plans.

    CBS reports that the two are "expected to leave Thursday."

    Time reports that Waltz has been nominated as the Ambassador to the United Nations, if he gets the backing from the Senate.
