The CI Proudly Subscribes to the Indiana News Service

Editor's Note: The Cardinal Independent (The CI) is owned by Vivian Bostick.

MUNCIE, Ind. - The CI an independent news outlet serving Muncie, is proud to announce its subscription of the Indiana News Service (INNS)—a statewide bureau of the Public News Service (PNS) and a member of The Trust Project, a global journalism transparency initiative.

Founded and operated by Vivian Bostick, majoring in Media at Ball State University, The CI is rooted in the mission of its parent brand, Vee Media:

"Creating real, genuine digital experiences with an intentional focus on community through media production."

This aligns directly with the mission of the PNS:

"Our job is to 'interest the public in the public interest.' – John Dewey"

While The CI remains independently owned and continues to produce its own local reporting and original stories, this partnership will increase the news coverage available to the Muncie community.

Through INNS and PNS, The CI now has access to professionally reported stories across Indiana and the nation—covering topics like public health, environmental justice, economic policy, education, and more.

This means more timely, trustworthy information for Muncie residents—without sacrificing The CI’s grassroots perspective, local coverage, or editorial independence.

In The CI's commitment to accurate, honest journalism, The CI follows the standards of The Trust Project, whose 8 Trust Indicators promote journalistic integrity, transparency, and accountability. The CI has published and adheres to these standards in its reporting to better serve its audience.

The CI's subscription in INNS and access to PNS content marks a major step forward in delivering high-quality, ethical journalism for the people of Muncie.
