MUNCIE, Ind. - The Muncie Liberation Studio and United Front will hold a protest against MiddleTown Property Group this Saturday, July 19th at 3:00 p.m., outside the company's office on 1709 North Walnut Street.

VBN has been following the story of Alysson Fergison's mother, an elderly woman who has lived at the property now known as The District on Oakwood since before it was acquired and renamed by MiddleTown Property Group.

MiddleTown reportedly plans to evict her.

"For years, the company has continued its criminal malpractice and attacks on tenant's rights, even despite an ongoing class action lawsuit against the company," the Muncie Liberation Studio posted. "We need your help to get Ms[.] Fergison to her goals and prevent [MiddleTown] from evicting her grandmother. When tenant rights are under attack, we stand up, FIGHT BACK!"

In a petition update, Fergison encouraged people to stop by the protest, or drive by and honk in support, noting that "These students have decided to organize this protest of their own volition.  It's important to support such efforts, because being engaged and showing up to fight the good fights is the only way things will ever get better for renters in [and] around Muncie."

VBN has still yet to receive any response from MiddleTown or the Attorney General's office.
