IndyGo Driver Stops Bus, Saves Turtle from Busy Street During Route

INDIANAPOLIS - A driver for IndyGo, the City of Indianapolis' public transportation system, did more than just keep the bus moving--he moved a turtle to safety.

In a video posted to IndyGo's Facebook page, the driver spots the turtle slowly walking into oncoming traffic. He stops the bus, throws on a safety vest, and gently carries the turtle across the street using what IndyGo identified as a second vest.

After dropping off the turtle, the driver got back on the bus to continue dropping off passengers.

"Whether you're a rider or turtle, safety is our [number-one] priority," a caption at the end of the video read.

A number of Facebook commenters identified the driver as Will, though IndyGo has not confirmed the name of the heroic driver.
