MUNCIE, Ind. - Welcome to The Junkyard, an animation studio on the second floor of the Arts and Journalism building.
Most of the computers are out of order, and those that turn on don't have necessary software.
Junior Animation Major Hayley Rawlins says The Junkyard is "unusable."
"The classes run from 8:00 p.m.'s all the way to 10:00 p.m.'s, so we have to do homework after that," Rawlins said. "And not being able to use this room, we've had to have super late nights."
Those late nights, according to Rawlins' petition, which has over 100 signatures, can last as late as 3:00 a.m.
Rawlins hopes to bring visibility to the program.
"I’m hoping that we get the funding we need because I really care about all my peers and the staff," Rawlins said. "I’ve just seen all the struggles that all the students and everyone’s been going through with all of the technology problems, so I’m just hoping that we get what we need for our program."
