MUNCIE, Ind. - Corporal Blake Reynolds has passed away, according to a press release from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, reposted by the City of Muncie.
Reportedly, Reynolds was helping a broken-down semi truck when his patrol vehicle was hit at the 247 mile marker.
"At the time of collision, [Reynolds] was outside his vehicle and was struck during the impact," the press release says. "Multiple agencies responded immediately, and life-saving measures were attempted at the scene. Despite every effort, Corporal Reynolds succumbed to his injuries."
The lights at Muncie City Hall will be blue "until the day following services for Corporal Reynolds."
